Remarkable Impact

  • 1. The Mitanin initiative, launched in May 2002 in Chhattisgarh, proved to be a remarkable success. Its effectiveness led the Government of India to adopt and scale the program nationwide as the ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) program under national health mission (NHM). The initial piloting of the Mitanin (ASHA) program was conducted in Korba district by the Social Revival Group of Urban, Rural, and Tribal organisation.
  • 2. Pioneers in HIV/AIDS Awareness Among the first to initiate HIV/AIDS awareness programs in Chhattisgarh, significantly contributing to public health education and stigma reduction.
  • 3. Training and Capacity Building Successfully trained and built the capacity of over 6,344 Anganwadi Workers through the Anganwadi Workers Training Center Program covering 7 District, enhancing early childhood care and development services.
  • 4. Promotion of Self-Help Groups Formed and nurtured 1,045 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), empowering communities through collective action, financial literacy, and micro-enterprise development.
  • 5. Women’s Skill Development Provided livelihood-based skill development training to 954 women, enabling them to pursue sustainable income-generating activities and fostering economic independence.
  • 6. Women Empowerment and Protection Through the Shakti Sadan initiative, 205 women in distress were successfully rehabilitated and restored to their homes, ensuring dignity and safety.
  • 7. Child Protection and Child Rights Handled over 8,205 cases via the emergency helpline between 2013 and 2025, ensuring timely intervention and support. Additionally, more than 150 children received care and protection through dedicated Children’s Homes.
  • 8. Soil and Water Conservation Implemented effective conservation measures under the Watershed Development Program, including the construction of trenches that enabled the conservation of approximately 2,013,930 cubic liters of water.
  • 9. Women Enterprise Development Supported the development of over 100 women-led nano enterprises, fostering economic independence and sustainable livelihoods for women.
  • 10. Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) As an outcome of the Watershed Development Program, a Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) was formed, comprising 585 members and more Then 2000 farmers beneficiaries. This FPO operates on a self-sustainable model, demonstrating remarkable effectiveness. Recognizing its success, NABARD has partnered with the FPO and provided funding support for the implementation of the Rural Haat Project.
